On November 1, 2005, Cedar Mountain True Value opened for business. The owners Doug and Samantha Stadtlander from Las Vegas began their love of Cedar Mountain when they purchased a cabin in Swains Creek in 2001. It was within a few years that they realized the Mountain and the wonderful people of the Community had to be their permanent home. Since Doug and Samantha had retail store and building experience, they realized the immediate need for a full-service hardware store on the Mountain that would not only provide essentials for the DIY projects we all have but provide housewares and sporting goods as well. A few years ago they began working with the national True Value representatives and their realtor, Cindy Allen to put the plan in motion for what has now resulted in The Stadtlanders relocating to Cedar Mountain as permanent residents and the opening of Cedar Mountain True Value. The store not only carries hardware and housewares but offers building supplies, tool rentals, sporting goods, pet supplies and propane distribution. They are also an authorized dealer of Bass Pro branded products.
